Job Description
As the new Merchandise Planning Manager, you will be responsible for shaping the product strategy across the Dymocks network. You will lead buying plans, deliver actionable reporting that improves sales and minimises markdowns. Managing OTB, forecasting stock needs, and directing the ideal range and mix in every Dymocks store.
Reporting to the Merchandise General Manager, you will be responsible for:
Working with the GM to action and measure strategic buying initiatives.
Work with the books Planner as well as the allocations team to ensure correct inventory levels are maintained in stores to maximise sales and minimise markdowns.
Making recommendations for products and quantities by category and price point.
Help set yearly KPIs and budgets
Work on promotional and seasonal modelling scenarios as well as Post seasonals analysis on activity
Help set up seasonal Open to buys for our General Merchandise business.
Work with the category managers on product trade and life cycles.
Ensure stores have the correct stock and balanced category mix, supporting sales performance and assist in preventing excess inventory.
Produce and manage store grading, ensuring optimal replenishment and the right mix of product in each store.
Analyse month end reports to recommend product mix adjustments and advises the buying team on group buy quantities.
Producing buying calendar with key points from the analysis and suggestions for next season. Ensuring all post seasonals and trade analysis is actioned and reported back to the appropriate teams.
Preparing detailed weekly range reports for selected products sourced or bought for franchise or company stores.
